It’s time to turn back to our roots. For Karen Contreras, CEO of Urban Plantations, this means turning people onto the beauty of organically grown food in urban settings. In 2008, Contreras quit her sales job and founded Urban Plantations with the help of her husband and a pickup truck. Today, the company designs, installs, and maintains 50 gardens in homes, corporate campuses, and restaurants all over San Diego. Clients harvest the fruits and vegetables themselves, which fosters a stronger connection to their food and a greater sense of appreciation for where it comes from. Read the full article here!
